Tasha & Ryan
Tasha and Ryan celebrated their elegant wedding at the Martinborough Tree Church, an incredible outdoor cathedral that felt truly magical. The couple ensured their day was relaxed and personal, and highlights included exchanging private vows and dancing late into the night (comfortably, in sneakers!). The most important guest? Their loyal dog, Buster, who made sure he was front and center for every moment of the celebration. Tasha tells us more....
For our wedding, I wanted something elegant and timeless. The Martinborough Tree Church was unlike anything else — an outdoor cathedral made of nature, with light streaming through branches and sky. It was the dream setting for our pretty, classic celebration.
The night before, I stayed with my bridesmaids in an Airbnb. One of my bridesmaids brought her young daughter, who filled our morning with laughter, cuddles, and dance parties. She instantly melted away any nerves.
The morning began with champagne, laughter and soaking up the excitement together — exactly how we wanted to start our wedding day.
My gown was by Jenny Yoo from Astra Bridal Wellington — the silk lining made it feel divine. I loved that I could change it up later, removing the sleeves and adding a chic neck scarf. And, after our first dance, I swapped into sneakers so I could dance all night long in comfort — highly recommend!
I felt beautiful in a gown that balanced simplicity with sculptural detail — draped, tailored and designed to feel timeless.
Ryan got ready at home with our dog Buster, his loyal sidekick. I don’t think either of them could imagine the morning without the other.
Ryan looked effortlessly stylish and completely at ease, enjoying time with his groomsmen as the excitement of the day unfolded.
We loved welcoming our guests with simple, thoughtful details that felt true to us and set the tone for the day ahead.
The Martinborough Tree Church was unlike anything we’d ever seen — a living, breathing cathedral shaped by nature, where sunlight spilled through branches and the sky became our ceiling. It was the dream setting for our timeless, classic ceremony, surrounded by the people we love most.
Seeing our beautiful ceremony space was unforgettable — calm, intimate and framed by nature, just as we had imagined.
I walked myself up the aisle, something I’d always imagined doing, and the moment I saw Ryan waiting for me, everything else faded away. Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey played softly — a song I’ve adored since The Great Gatsby.
And of course, Buster was right there too — sitting proudly at the top of the aisle with the groomsmen. He’s our baby, the most loved member of our little family, and having him there was a must. He brought so many smiles (and a few laughs) as he happily dozed off mid-ceremony under the sun. It truly wouldn’t have been our wedding day without him.
After the ceremony guests enjoyed a sumptuous charcuterie board, lawn games and cocktails in the sun.
We loved seeing our guests relax, celebrating together, playing lawn games and enjoy the views while while we had our photos taken.
Some of the best moments came from simply being together — laughing, walking and celebrating with our wedding party by our side.
Some of our favourite photos are the ones with Buster — even though he was a little stubborn, his personality shone through every frame. Those images truly captured our life together, just as it is.
After our photo shoot in the beautiful Martinborough Tree Church gardens, we exchanged private vows during the golden hour — just the two of us, a drink in hand, surrounded by the picturesque farm backdrop.
Our photographer, Olivia Melhop, was a pleasure to work with. We hardly noticed her during our private vows, yet she captured every emotion perfectly in the photographs.
As the sun set, we stepped away together to exchange our private vows and savour the moment we became husband and wife.
At sunset, we went straight into our first dance, Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls, before entering our marquee reception. What started as a nerve-wracking idea became one of our favorite moments of the day.
We skipped traditional elements like a seating chart and leaned into simplicity. Paper Darling created our invitations and bar signs, which were perfect. I’m not a DIY girl — I wanted to keep stress low and joy high.
We kept our table styling simple and elegant, letting soft white florals and candlelight create an intimate atmosphere for the evening.
Our catering was all about abundance and comfort, with vibrant, flavour-packed dishes that our guests could enjoy.
As night fell, the celebration continued — glowing lights, heartfelt speeches and a dance floor full of our nearest and dearest.
Ending the day surrounded by our favourite people felt incredibly special — a moment that perfectly reflects the love, laughter and support that carried us to this day.
If I could share one piece of advice, it’s this: make the day about you. Trust your instincts and do what feels right for your relationship, not what’s expected. Our day was filled with love, laughter, and everything we could have dreamed of — the best day of our lives.
