Maggie & Sam

They say your wedding day is supposed to be the best day of your life, and ours was no exception. We had the perfect day celebrating with 150 of our nearest and dearest, many of whom had travelled from different corners of the country and world.

Martinborough became the obvious choice for a location, with us living in Wellington and my grandmother growing up there. With such a large group, we chose the perfect venue in Martinborough that could host a large, merry crowd and that also catered to our vision of having a relaxed outdoor setting. Having cottages onsite made the weekend feel like a getaway with all the people that we love, which is exactly what we wanted. We were stoked with the way the ceremony flowed seamlessly into canapés and bubbles, while we were whisked away for photos.

The food was outstanding and kept everyone satisfied and happy while enjoying the lawn games and wedding yarns. Thank goodness the weather played ball and we were lucky to have a perfectly sunny day, with a wee bit of wind that helped to make the groom a bit less sweaty!

The evening was a highlight with plenty of laughs (at our expense) during the speeches and a delicious banquet feast. Our MCs did an amazing job at managing the day and evening, and we are so grateful for their help to keep the day stress free.

Usually Friday 13th is not the most typical day for a wedding, but to us, it will always be the luckiest day of our lives!
