Georgia & Wheriko

Georgia and Wheriko’s wedding day was a beautiful celebration of family, culture and love in a relaxed and romantic setting. Georgia tells us more…

We wanted our wedding to be centred around our whanau and our culture, and we were fortunate that all our vendors were able to do this for us.

We had a rustic vibe wedding with hints of native Aotearoa, to reflect our heritage.

Kumeu Valley was the perfect venue, with ceremony, reception and photography locations all in one place, making our day even more relaxed and enabled us to spend more time with our guests, and in particular our daughter.

Having Iripa and Jess as our celebrant team really enhanced the mana (power) and wairua (spirit) of our special day. There was personalised karakia (prayer) written just for us, gifting of kahuweka (feathered cloak) from Wheriko’s whanau, made just for me. It was a magical and emotional day, and we felt it captured our values and Māoritanga (Māori culture) beautifully.

It was such a special day and we are so appreciative of all our whanau, guests and vendors for making the day as perfect as it was. Kōwhiri te herenga tahi, haukaha tahi mai te aroha - woven together by choice, strengthened together by love.
