2023 Brown Brothers Dolcetto & Syrah

This beautiful magenta-hued wine is comprised of two grape varieties – Dolcetto and Syrah.

Translated as “little sweet one” in Italian, Dolcetto is an Italian grape variety that hails from the mountainous region of north-west Italy. While the Italians typically make dry red wines from Dolcetto, Brown Brothers innovative winemakers instead opted to produce a distinctive fruit-driven wine to showcase its vibrant red colour and attractive ripe summer berry flavours.

The second grape variety in this sensational blend is Syrah or Shiraz as it is known in Australia. One of the oldest known grape varieties, Shiraz is responsible for many of France’s best known and highly acclaimed red wines and has made itself very much at home within the wide range of soils and climates of Australia’s diverse viticultural regions.

Brown Brothers Dolcetto & Syrah has fresh lifted aromas of blackberries and red currants dominate, with hints of spice and liquorice. On the palate, flavours of ripe summer berries and a natural grape sweetness balance well with the frizzante mouth feel, resulting in a lively and refreshing finish.

Brown Brothers Cienna makes the perfect partner to a wide range of dishes. Try it with a spicy Chinese hot pot and enjoy how the sweetness of the wine eases the heat of chilli and spice. 2023 Brown Brothers Cienna

This vibrant ruby red wine is made with Cienna - an exciting grape variety bred by the CSIRO Plant Industry by crossing Sumoll, a grape variety from Spain, with Cabernet Sauvignon. Sumoll has its origins in the northeast of Spain, and is highly suitable for the type of warm, dry conditions found in many of Australia’s grape growing regions.  

Cabernet Sauvignon is widely regarded as the King of red grape varieties. Its origins lie in the famed Chateau country in the south-west of France, where it is the major component in the esteemed red wines.

Brown Brothers Cienna is rich and juicy with aromas of fresh red berries and a hint of spice combined with a fruit sweetness. Add to this a light bubble finish and natural acidity, and the result is a sensationally refreshing wine that’s simply divine.
