♥️🖤 Beautiful, poignant wedding image captured by @anagalloway 📷 ...‘When Vanessa and Nick asked me to photograph their wedding I felt honored and excited to create something special for them. We’d talked about getting some urban photos in the centre of Christchurch to showcase some of the beauty of the city since the devastation of the earthquakes. I’d planned a few locations for the portrait session, one of them in particular was this photo at The Crossing. I’d envisioned a bustling city scape with shoppers whisking through my frame as Vanessa and Nick stood still in the centre, symbolizing life, vibrancy, fun, and excitement. Christchurch is so much a part of their lives and you’d be hard pressed to find anyone else who loves, celebrates and promotes their beautiful city more than this gorgeous couple. On Friday, tragedy unfolded at the Deans Ave and Lichfield Mosques, the hours that followed encased us in uncertainty, utter sadness, tension, nerves and total disbelief. The next day I spoke with Vanessa and Nick and we decided we would still to go in to the centre to take some photos. When we got to The Crossing there was no one around so I asked their bridal party to walk around Vanessa and Nick to create some movement.
