Lina & Sam
When planning our wedding, we wanted to pay special attention to what is important to us, such as family, food, beautiful settings, entertainment and music, while tying our own personal taste to the entire event. To us it was our chance to have a big, fun party with all the people we love.
We were influenced by the classic romance feel, and naturally chose the pastel shades of peaches, pinks and creams, which brought a soft, whimsical feel to the occasion when combined with the rich greenery of the grove surroundings.
We incorporated our sense of clean and timeless style in our attire – I chose a custom-designed longsleeved lace gown with a classic feel and Sam wore a slim-cut black suit, crisp white shirt with a bow tie and patent black shoes.
Despite growing up in New Zealand, we wanted to pay special homage to our Singaporean and Fijian heritage. Our ceremony began with a traditional blessing, which symbolised both our cultures. It was formal, warm and loving. Our close friend gave a heartfelt reading during the ceremony, and our wonderful celebrant made us feel at ease as we said our ‘I do’s’.
After the ceremony, our guests were invited to the sunny pavilion for drinks and canapés, while our photographer captured the bridal party within the beautiful landscape.
We entertained our guests at the reception with our first dance, which was a contemporary number. It was fun and light hearted, which represented us as a couple perfectly. Sam surprised me with his own dance performance that he had been secretly working on for a few months prior to the big day! After the incredible surprise, our guests joined us for a boogie.
Our guests also wasted no time flaunting their signature poses at the photo booth, and took home printed mementos with them. Needless to say, the day went without a hitch and was full of excitement, laughter and fun!
