Best friends of 17 years Tonchi and Haley were married in an elegant wedding that celebrated their journey and their wonderful friends and family. Haley tells us more…

The most significant part of our day was not only marrying each other, but it was a day to signify our trying journey of the loss of beautiful mothers and my sister within a year of each other. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the love and support from our family and friends.

We celebrated with 180 family and friends. There were so many special moments during the day, but walking down the aisle with my dad on one arm and my two-year-old Franco on the other arm towards the love of my life was the standout moment for me. Emotions were running high, yet everything felt so right.

When my mum was diagnosed with cancer and given only a few months to live, we sat down together and chose my style of gown and talked about how my day would be when the time came. This made things a whole lot easier when it came to making decisions about the wedding and designing my gown. In a way my mum still walked down the aisle with me, as two weeks before the wedding I had her name, in her handwriting, tattooed on my foot so she could not only walk down the aisle with me but forever throughout my life.

We would have never got to the day without the styling and planning skills of my beautiful bridesmaids. They went above and beyond with no complaints. The boys also gave amazing support to Tonchi who was hit hard with emotions on the day. He was missing his mother, who he was extremely close to, but the boys brought joy and laughter in a way only great old mates can.

Our son Franco was our pageboy and one of my bridesmaid’s daughters was the flowergirl. Typical two-year-olds, they pushed the limits every chance they got and didn’t walk down the aisle as planned, but this made the day even more special. From lying in the dirt eating lollipops during the photos to carrying toys down the aisle, these two little darlings put smiles on everyone’s faces!
