Tegan & Tom

The family dairy farm was the perfect location for Tegan and Tom’s rustic wedding. Tegan shares their story…

We spent 18 months clearing an old shearing shed of farm tools, dust and resident spiders, so we had a space to hold the reception. With amazing help from friends and family, we managed to transform the shed and gardens into our dream venue. Knick knacks, vintage vases, tea cups and bunting decorated every surface, while fairy lights and paper lanterns were strung from the rafters and wild flowers were placed in every nook. Jars of homemade jam and lemon curd were favours for guests and a sweets table made up of our childhood favourites was there for everyone to enjoy.
The rain poured down on the day of the wedding, but the weather and muddied state of my silk gown was forgotten as we made our promises to each other and exchanged rings. After receiving many congratulations, we travelled by ute to photo locations around the farm. The rest of the evening flew by in a blur of great food, speeches and wonderful company. The entertainment was a hit and the barn provided the perfect atmosphere for everyone to party the night away. In the end everything came together, and regardless of the weather, we couldn’t be happier.
