Kim & Hamish
Inspired by their love of travel and exotic countries, Kim and Hamish planned a colourful celebration with special touches from around the world. Kim shares their story…
The venue we chose was the perfect backdrop, with Turkish rugs lining the walls and floor. We purchased vintage teapots for our centrepieces, filled with gorgeous flowers. Our tables were named after some of the favourite places that we had visited and we displayed postcards that we had sent to our parents. We also borrowed an old suitcase and decorated it with pictures of us, for guests to put their cards and gifts in. To continue the theme, we had personalised tins of tea as our wedding favours, and hired Moroccan-style lanterns and accessories from Centrepiece. My gown featured layers of delicate French lace, and Hamish wore a bespoke pinstripe suit. All of the groomsmen had ‘Keep calm and carry on’ cufflinks. The ceremony was in a rose garden and I walked down an aisle lined with hydrangeas. After a celebratory toast, the wedding party left for photos in a Kombi van while our guests enjoyed Pimms cocktails. When we entered the reception, the room was breath-taking, lit up with candelabras and tea lights. After the speeches, we cut our cake and the dance floor was pumping all night.
