Bride & Groom MAGAZINE 77 Real Weddings JULIE&DAVID

Julie and David wanted a fun party atmosphere for their wedding, so they planned a day with plenty of special touches to ensure it was memorable for them and their guests. Julie shares the details…

The theme of our wedding had a vintage carnival vibe, with an old school photo booth, multi-coloured bunting, and preserving jars filled with flowers as table centrepieces. The pièce de résistance was the candy station, for which I spent months collecting jars – I wasn’t sure how it would go down but by the end of the night there was barely a milk bottle, chocolate fish or rainbow jelly left! The highlight was the colour-coordinated personalised M&Ms that a friend bought for us from the US, complete with our photograph on them! We spent many hours planning the ceremony – we felt it was important to tell our story properly when making such a public declaration of love. My personal highlight of the day was our first dance. We’d only had two lessons but we managed to wow the crowd with our routine to Let There Be Love by Peggy Lee.
