Jess & Joel

Jess and Joel Mowat shared a special wedding day with close family and friends playing an important role. Jess fills us in on the details…

We wanted our wedding to really reflect who we are as a couple, and keep it personal by including our loved ones to add that special touch.
A close friend designed and printed our stationery, and my aunty and mum made the bouquets as well as other floral arrangements. Accompanied by a guitar, friends sang me up the aisle to a song they had written. The list of support continues, helping with hair, makeup, cake, rings and cars. Our highlight of the day was the incredible atmosphere in the church, which was packed and buzzing with our closes friends and family. Guests came from all over the world to be part of the day, and seeing two families come together is an amazing time for all. At the end of the ceremony, multi-coloured petals floated down from the mezzanine. At the reception, tables were named after places of significance to Joel and I, such as the place we got engaged, and guests received small honeypots with tags that encouraged them to ‘Spread the Love’. It was a day filled with laughter, fun and significance, celebrating the joining of our lives.
