Jess & Dave

Jess and Dave’s wedding was a lively celebration of them as a couple, but the festivities also included their families, a slice of where they come from, and the things that make them both unique. Jess tells us more…

Dave’s parents offered us their beautiful family home in Karaka for the venue and the idea of a rustic-style wedding at the two-acre property with its beautiful gardens, absolutely fitted the bill. I’m a bubbly person and we wanted a refreshing and vibrant colour that embodied the happiness we felt. The lemon trees dotted around the gardens inspired us to go for a lemon yellow, which we sprinkled throughout the various elements of the day.

An arch between ribbon-wrapped topiary trees was the backdrop for the ceremony and Agee jars filled with wild flowers hung on the chairs lining the aisle. Lemons also featured on our stationery, in the homemade lemonade after the ceremony, in our table centerpieces, and the middle tier and on the top of our cake. Dave has a sweet tooth, so it was inevitable that a lolly bar would feature at our reception, his love of lollies was woven into other aspects, including the Pineapple Lump-flavoured top tier of our cake and the jelly bean wedding favours.

We danced the night away with our guests before the reality hit that while our amazing wedding day had come to an end, our married life had just begun.
