Hannah & Dave

Bride & Groom MAGAZINE 74 Real Wedding 1

After getting engaged in Georgia, USA, Hannah and Dave thought it would be fun to celebrate a wedding complete with delicious Southern food, music and style. Hannah tells us more…

We found the perfect garden to set up a marquee for our relaxed Southern-themed wedding with a rustic country feel. I wore a lace gown with an open back, and Dave wore a stylish navy suit. The groomsmen were dressed in checked shirts and ties, while the bridesmaids looked gorgeous in duck-egg blue. Our invitations matched our colour scheme of blue and brown, and included a CD of some of our favourite Southern artists playing country, blues and soul. We played some of this music during our ceremony. Our guests waved ribbon wedding wands as we walked down the aisle and then we all enjoyed old-fashioned lemonade on the lawn. The marquee was decorated with potted succulents, jars filled with candles, flowers and bunting everywhere. The tables were named after American states and our wedding favours were miniature Southern Iced Tea kits we had made for our guests to take home. Our menu followed the Southern theme with dishes such as jambalaya, ribs and apple pie. Mum did an amazing job with the cake, which also had bunting on it!
