Emma & Ayrton

Emma and Ayrton had six months to bring their wedding dream to reality, and they succeeded in creating a beautiful outdoor celebration with a classic yet modern feel. Emma shares more details from their special day…
As soon as the proposal was announced, my Pinterest was established and the ideas were brewing! I always loved the idea of creating a day around our personalities, and DIY was a great way to establish this. I wanted to feel like a princess for the day, so I created a whimsical theme with black, white, gold and a hint of colour. I decorated the ceremony altar with giant gold crepe flowers for a touch of enchantment. At the reception, gold glitter-dipped jars, black-and-white striped fabric, and bright floral arrangements made up the centrepieces inside the marquee, with tall candles to create a night glow. We had a photo booth set up, where guests could leave a personal message on a postcard along with their Polaroid photo. These cards were later bound together and the book now sits on our coffee table. Many friends and family stayed at local B&Bs on the night of the wedding, and joined us the next morning for a French-inspired brunch. Our wedding was a day where childhood dreams came true and one that we will never forget.
