Emma & Troy
Emma and Troy share a love of the outdoors, so they planned a winter woodland-themed wedding with
stunning personal touches.
Troy tells us about their special day…
Our family and close friends played an important role in the preparations for our wedding, and on the day itself. Our moving ceremony saw our rings tied with twine and presented to us on Emma’s late grandfather’s Bible; our mums signed the register; our grannies said a prayer for us; and our maid of honour and best man blew us away by performing a duet. There wasn’t a dry eye in the church.
Our rustic reception venue, complete with exposed timber and overhead vines in the dining hall, was the perfect canvas for us to bring our own personal flair. The dining tables were decorated with red berries, wild flowers and pinecone nametags, and the cake sat atop a tree trunk. It wouldn’t be a woodland wedding without birds, so we had feather insignias printed on our invites, feathers strung around the altar, a pair of sparrows on top of our cake, and handcrafted feather boutonnieres worn by the groomsmen. This all tied in with our wishing tree – a barren, wintry tree decked with fairy lights and bird-shaped cards where guests wrote messages for us.
Our magical wedding weaved together our love for each other, the outdoors, and the important people who have journeyed with us.
