Deborah & Cameron
Inspired by the beautiful rural family homestead where they were to hold their ceremony, Deborah and Cameron planned a relaxed celebration with an antique, country theme.
Deborah tells us more…
My parents worked tirelessly in the months leading up to the wedding, preparing their property for our big day. It looked perfect!
Following our outdoor ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks and canapés in the garden next to the pond while we had our photos taken. Our reception was held at a local country hall, which was transformed into a marquee-like space, lined with silk. Blue and white is my favourite colour combination, and this colour scheme extended beyond the gingham check of Cam’s shirt to many parts of the decoration. Blue hydrangeas featured prominently in the floral arrangements, and the gingham appeared on the favours, on the cake and the reception tables. According to family tradition, Cam’s mum made us a beautiful blue-and-white quilt to commemorate the wedding, and it makes a wonderful keepsake of the day.
Our wedding favours were inspired by a trip around Europe, where strawberry jam was a staple for breakfast. So, we bought strawberries from our local market and made 99 bottles of jam labelled ‘Spread the Love’.
After dinner and speeches, the dancing kicked off and didn’t stop, even on the bus trip back to Auckland City!
