Christina & Luke

A fun wedding with a foodie theme was the order of the day for baker Christina and chef Luke, who celebrated their special day on the family farm. Christina shares more details…

Planning our wedding was almost like a part-time job, but it was the best one I could have dreamed of! For months I collected doilies, vintage china, jars and bottles, and spent many nights with my bridesmaids sewing table runners, stamping favour bags, making trips to the flower market, and doing lots of baking! Luke spent the week before the wedding transforming the barn from a workshop to a wedding venue. Tractors and tools were shipped out and fairy lights and flowers brought in! He was amazing, mowing the paddock, organising food, and creating a full kitchen with hired equipment. We spend the night before our big day setting tables, making floral arrangements, creating a favour station and dessert buffet, and filling every space with lavender, candles and lace. The boys prepped all the food until 3am! The wind and rain arrived for our wedding day, but we had blankets to keep our guests warm. Luke and I exchanged vows under the same tree where he proposed to me, and then we all enjoyed afternoon tea and cake. After our photos, we arrived back at the barn for dinner, speeches and dancing, before a surprise fireworks display to farewell our guests who went home with baked treats. We couldn’t have asked for a better day.
