Chelsea & Marcus

Chelsea and Marcus love escaping the city, so planned a relaxed and rustic wedding in the country. Chelsea fills us in on their day…
We spent nine months sourcing material and inspiration for our big day; Marcus spending many nights in the garage cutting wood and preparing signs, while I established myself as the queen of bow tying! Our families also played a big part, making anything from cakes to coasters and menus. Our ceremony was held at a small church, with colourful bouquets lining the pews. A friend sang me down the aisle before Marcus and I exchanged personalised vows. Afterwards guests lined up at the homemade lemonade stand, soaking up the warm summer day. At the reception, a palette of pink, purple, white and brown came together through mismatched table runners, wild flowers, Agee jars and bunting. One of our favourite features was the photo tree, with photos of our parents and grandparents on their wedding day. Dinner was followed by a barn-style dance and the band had the crowd stomping their feet into the wee hours. We put so much time into getting the little details just right, and I’m so glad we did because the day felt so unique and ‘us’.
