Cassie & Hamish
Cassandra and Hamish planned an elegant wedding with a timeless, classic feel and a stunning black-and-white colour theme. Cassandra shares their story…
The natural surroundings and antique French feel of our venue in the Waitakere Ranges was perfect and made a truly romantic setting for our wedding day. My gown was the first one I tried on – an off-white Grecian-style gown with a beaded bodice, topped off with a tiara and veil. My bridesmaids wore long black dresses with beaded detailing, a small train and black hair accessories, to tie in with our elegant theme.
Pearls were a big part of our wedding day theme – incorporated into my jewellery, tiara, shoes, veil, gown, the bow on our cake, the ribbon on my bouquet and the table centrepieces. On the day of our wedding I rode to the venue with my parents in two classic Rolls Royce cars – a truly memorable experience with special one-on-one time that I would recommend to all brides. We exchanged vows we had written and our guests threw white rose petals as we made our way back down the aisle. While we had our photos taken in the garden our guests enjoyed bubbly and canapés. At the reception, favour boxes filled with chocolate- and caramel-covered strawberries doubled as place settings, and a buffet meal of seafood, salads, vegetables and dessert was served. After a night of dancing, Hamish and I left through a farewell arch, saying our goodbyes and thanking our guests.
