Tanya and Lucius

Tanya and Lucius’ romantic summer wedding was held at two iconic Auckland venues. Tanya shares why their big day was so special…

Lucius and I were married at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell, with the reception following at Auckland Museum – we loved the romantic feel and stunning architecture of both locations. I had prayed for a beautiful sunny day, but was blessed with a cloudy, rainy one instead. As the heavens opened up and rain poured down, I knew that the only thing that was really important was marrying Lucius.
The theme of our wedding was based around the fruit of the spirit and this was incorporated into the invites and table names. I chose white roses for myself and beautiful metalina and light-pink blooms for the bridesmaids.

I was totally overwhelmed walking down the aisle with my father to Agnus Dei and seeing Lucius waiting for me. The ceremony was everything we hoped for – it was filled with joy, happiness and the love we have for one another and for God.

Our reception continued the celebration of love and friendship, as we danced the night away in the Museum’s foyer. We drank Champagne, had a lovely dinner, and enjoyed the evening with family and friends. The speeches were moving and so beautiful.
It was such an amazing day that we shared with loved ones and each other. I know that Lucius will always be next to me with every step that I take and that makes me feel truly blessed.
