Katie & David
Creative couple Katie and David Smith put together a beautiful celebration that reflected their personalities and relationship. Katie fills us in on all the details…
We wanted our wedding away from the hustle and bustle of the city where our guests could relax, so when we came across Woodlands and its stunning gardens we just knew it was the place. Our decorations included old beer crates full of beautiful flowers, flickering candles in jars sitting on doilies, and hand-sewn hanging hearts on twine, reminding everyone that this day was a celebration of love. At the reception we had handmade pompoms on twigs wrapped with twine and jet plane lollies in brown bags. We also had a polaroid camera on rotation so we got heaps of crazy photos of our guests. Our bridal attire was quite vintage and fun. My gown was made from French lace with a keyhole back. My bridesmaids and I wore red lipstick and nail polish to match. Dave and the gents had navy cuffed pants with classy tan brogues and hand-sewn chequered bowties. While we had our photos taken before the ceremony our friends and family were busy transforming a local hall with our decorations. When we walked down the aisle as man and wife, our guests threw white petals in the air – it was so much fun that we did a second lap!
