Jessica & Jared
Rustic romance was the theme for Jessica and Jared’s special day. The couple planned a stunning wedding with unique touches that made it truly personal. Jessica shares their story…
Our venue had so much room for creativity, while still holding true to a natural, earthy feel with the rustic barn and expansive gardens. We designed our stationery using natural card and incorporated a tree motif designed by Jared’s friend. We chose wooden boxes with flowing greenery, succulents and flowers in soft purples and white. Jared immersed himself in the planning, helping me to find every small detail – he scoured second-hand stores for stools, old boxes, watering cans and copious amounts of mason jars.
On the big day, we had a first-look photo shoot, meeting under a tree surrounded by hanging jars of hydrangeas – it was so intimate and special.
Our ceremony was held in a small chapel, with stunning stained-glass windows and wooden pews, which we decorated with small bunches of gypsophila. My aunt was our celebrant and we exchanged personalised vows.
Music was a crucial part of our day. We made a CD containing a compilation of songs that are meaningful to us and handed them out as favours. We also have a passion for animals so we hand-painted individual animal figurines for our guests as nametags. These were handpicked to suit their personalities and made for a good conversation starter!
Overall our wedding was a true celebration of who we are as a couple. We were surrounded by love and warmth the whole day, which made for the perfect beginning to the rest of our lives.
