Allie & Logan
Allie and Logan planned their dream wedding day with pretty vintage elements that perfectly suited their elegant woodland theme. Allie fills us in…
We wanted our wedding day to be a personal affair, with our unique touches woven throughout. We collected beautiful flowers from my parents’ and grandparents’ farm, which featured everywhere from our table settings to the bridesmaids’ hair. Our favours were jars of jam made from fruit my mother and I collected from our family orchard. Adorned with personalised labels and burlap tops, they also doubled as place names and were popular with our guests.
Logan spent weeks making vintage lawn games from wood collected at our family farm, including croquet sets, hacky-sack board games and ring toss – also a huge hit! The bar served a delicious cocktail we had created.
We created many of the other special details as well, including the burlap bunting and paper cones, and a talented friend made all of the stationery.
Our seating chart and menu were drawn onto my great grandmother’s 100-year-old windows, which was a lovely way to honour a loved one who couldn’t be there. The tables were decorated with doily tablecloths collected from vintage stores, candles, and stumps of wood adorned with manuka flowers and hurricane lamps.
As well as creating all the floral arrangements, my mother also made her famous Hungarian Cake – a recipe handed down through the generations.
After our meal we all danced the night away under sparkling festoon lights that hung in the courtyard.
Our wedding day was the best day of our lives. We planned everything together and had so much fun watching our vision come to life.
